Life Brooks International is pleased to announce that we have successfully secured funding from the Go! London Fund to deliver a new programme supporting children and young people in Barking and Dagenham.
The funding will enable the delivery of “Dare to Achieve: Move Forward”, an 18-month sport and life-skills programme for young people aged 9–24, with a focus on those who are often under-represented in mainstream provision, including care-experienced young people, LGBTQ+ young people, and those experiencing mental health challenges.
The programme will combine physical activity, including netball and dance, with wrap-around support such as mentoring, resilience-building, confidence development, and practical life-skills workshops. Activities will be delivered in trusted community settings and in partnership with local schools, youth services, and specialist facilitators to ensure inclusive, high-quality provision.
“Dare to Achieve: Move Forward” has been co-designed with young people and community partners to respond directly to local need. The programme aims to improve physical wellbeing, strengthen confidence and social connection, and support young people to develop the skills needed for balanced and independent living.
This funding marks an important step in strengthening Life Brooks International’s work across Barking and Dagenham and reinforces our commitment to improving quality of life outcomes for young people and communities across London.
We are grateful to the Go! London Fund and its partners, including the Mayor of London, London Marathon Foundation, Sport England, and London Sport, for supporting this work.
Further updates will be shared as the programme progresses.
